We want to discover what it means to be human and what common threads bind us in similarity, even as we celebrate our differences.

Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt has collaborated with the Hi, How Are you Project, headquartered here in Austin. The Hi, How Are You Project is a non-profit organization inspiring new conversations around mental health issues by funding and creating thoughtful media content, projects and events.

Leave your mark through four in-room elements designed to spark creativity, encourage self-reflection and explore what makes you uniquely human.

It's an experience of your own—one that promises to deepen human relationships in an increasingly high-tech world. Use this as your time to disconnect, reconnect, and really listen to that creative voice in that brilliant head of yours.

Test-drive your song-writing ability with our book of lyrics. Go ahead, write a line or two. At the end, an artist is going to put it to music!

Once you do venture back online, share your experience with #stayhumanproject. And call your mom, don’t tweet her, she'd like that.

Hi, How Are You Project:

Founders Tom Gimbel and Courtney Blanton were inspired by Austin’s love for the iconic friendly frog mural painted by Daniel Johnston - himself a world-renowned musician and visual artist despite his own struggles with mental health issues. The mission is to remove the stigma and shame around mental health, so people will feel open to communicate. The Foundation, created with the support of Daniel Johnston and Family, provides a platform for the exchange of ideas and education on mental well-being. Donations to the Foundation fund mental health Awareness, Research and Education. To learn more about the foundation visit their website or check them out on YouTube.
